January 18, 2009i have worked within child care for some time now. i have just started up home day care & have started caring for a child with autisim.. this child is amazing...
with a child of my own i decided i wanted to be at home and spend all my time with him, but how can i when there are bills to pay and a family to feed? since i work in child care i thought why not start up home day care.. it has been 4 months now & i love it.. i have taken in a boy who is 3 1/2 & autistic..i thought to myself (this is going to be hard work).
This is one of the most talented children i have ever come across. his mind is amazing! he does things in certain ways that i would never think of. i would love to be able to get inside his head to see how his brain functions & see how & why they are this way.. my son is only turning 3 in February & he is doing so well & treats Declan with such compassion as he understands Declan can not talk like he can, so he communicates with him in other ways.
children are our future. we need to respect them & encourage them & tell them that they are special & it does not matter how different you are to others!
