So it's Mindfreak Wednesday, and it got me to thinking of quite possibly the most intelligent dumb luck I've ever had...

So this was something that happened quite some time ago, over a year ago in fact. It was a time in my life where I found myself less disenchanted and more optimistic. I took the initiative to try my hand at a few simple magic tricks and tried to "expand" my mind and it's abilities. It's really amazing what can happen when you open your mind and your heart, and simply "believe".

Well anyway, on to the story. I was showing my mom and brother (may he rest in peace) a few simple, yet "mindfreaking" card tricks. Needless to say, they were both intrigued (or at least they were humoring me, lol) and so to finish I simply said "Now, I'm going to shuffle this deck of cards. Absolutely no tricks involved....". I shuffled the deck and continued with a bit of flashy showmanship. "I'm going to show you what happens when you simply BELIEVE. I'm going to throw this deck. Again, no tricks involved, just simply believing, and one single card with land face up. No more, no less. Just one card, face up..."

I threw the deck with blind belief, it exploded in a cloudburst of red and white. Cards fluttered to the ground like leaves in the autumn. And low and behold, just one single card landed face up. It was the ace of spades. My brother and mom were absolutely shocked (and admittedly, so was I...but only a little). They questioned me as to how I carried out such a feat, and I simply said "BELIEVE".
