Rest In Peace Michael Joseph Jackson
June 29, 2009It's almost hard to believe that Michael Jackson "The King Of Pop" has passed away. When I first heard the news that he died, I thought it was just a rumor and that he would be fine, but when I turned on the news that was what I thought to be rumor was actually true. There was the headline right in front me that Michael Jackson had died at the age of 50. I was just in total shock. I didn't even know what to say. Me, my siblings and cousins had practically grown up with Michael Jackson and his music. I remember when we were little, we would form a band and call ourselves the "Basco 5", then as my two brothers took the lead, me and my sister and my cousins we be like back up dancers/singers. Those were some good times now that I look back on them. The first Michael Jackson I ever heard was Billie Jean and I know it sounds weird but I heard it while I was playing GTA: Vice City and that's when I completely fell in love with his music. Soon I began listening to more of his music but it quickly began to die down as a new age of music came in and quickly attracted me. Over the years, I haven't listened to much of Michael Jackson until recently. I guess his passing played a part in that. Listening to his music again made me realize how much I missed out on in his career. I only wish that I stuck with him & his music longer. And I do admit that when he was accused of child molestation, I made fun of him like every stupid immature person out there who was which I wish that I could take back, but can't. I am truly sorry to you and your family.
Michael Jackson has definitely had a impact on the whole world with his music, dance moves & even fashion. He started a lot of the trends that we now see today. Every artist you see on TV today, was influenced by Michael Jackson because of his strong influence on the world. Everyone in the world, young & old, rich and poor were influenced by Michael Jackson. He has truly changed music and broke a barrier within the music industry. One fact that I did not know about him was that he was the first African American artist to be shown on MTV. Not many people can do that and I believe that no one can surpass the kind of success he achieved in the last 40 years. That comes to show you that he's not only the King of Pop, but a true legend & icon as well. Michael Jackson was taken from us way too soon, but we all know that he's moon walking right now in heaven as he looks down upon us as we celebrate his career, music, life & legacy. He's in a place where he's no longer hurting or suffering. There will never be another Michael Jackson and he will forever be the original Michael Jackson "King of Pop". And though you are not here with us physically, you will continue to live forever in your music and in our hearts. Rest In Peace Michael Joseph Jackson. We miss you and love you. <333
