Human Knowledge is the Worst Weapon
October 27, 2008“Broken boundaries and lost innocence...Fallen wills that bind my spirit...Thoughts of the lost and the dead...Killed because of human knowledge
“Broken boundaries and lost innocence Fallen wills that bind my spirit Thoughts of the lost and the dead Killed because of human knowledge
Forced to die because of human curiosity Curiosity and pride Brings misery to the ones that stand by Brought on by pure desperation Thought of to save the people To "save" lives according to them
They should have left it alone Causing pain to all around them Going against their own morals Bringing unnatural pain to those unseen Destroying an entire city in one light Bring paradise to hell in one sweep
Fire and death piled in the street Bodies stacked on top of each other White turned to black Purity now burned beyond recognition
Sorrow enveloping the blackened earth The sun disappeared behind black smoke The sky black and the earth red with fire Cries of sorrow fill the space between The dead and dying cover the scene
Crying of the dying Mothers searching for their children A true story we want to forget Burned into our history
A story that will never be forgotten Especially by the ones that lived it A mother crying and wailing in hopelessness Because she can't save her only daughter Caught under the burning beams Only to watch her scream for help and mercy And slowly burn to death
How would you feel in that situation? Watching your only child burn to death And you could do nothing to save her While you are free and are helpless Forced to watch them cry out for death Screaming for help from the one person they trust And you can do nothing
This is the pain we caused these people This was one incident There were countless others Forced to live the rest of their lives in pain
Having to live each day Knowing the only reason you survived was luck Crawling back to the city Encountering a soul burned beyond recognition Seeing things a human isn't made to see
Reminded each and every day Of horror death and hell Of the terror that took there joys away Nightmares as a constant reminder”
“Just as a note. This poem was inspired by a true story that we all know about. This was affect of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima directly after the bomb hit. It’s enough to make a heartless person cry. The affects were something I will never forget. And to think...I wasn't even there and it had such a big affect on me. Humans are cruel. The Americans never thought of what would have happened after the bomb was dropped. It is a scar upon our history and we don't deserve to forget. We wonder why we are hated so much by other countries...I think the answer to plain and clear. We do foolish things and there are consequences. We have to live with what we have done. God help us if he exists.”
