Headed for Hell

October 23, 2008

"The world is headed for trouble. The world is headed for grief." The world is headed for hell.

You may not know where these quotes come from and even what they mean. "The world is headed for trouble. The world is headed for grief." These words were spoken by a man that isn't mentioned in history all that often and its wrong. He changed history like no other man did. He was the the man responsible for the atomic bomb. He knew what he was doing was wrong and he also knew that if the atomic bomb was accomplished the world would no longer be the same. And he was right. Our world is no longer owned by normal warfare. People need to be in constant fear that a nuclear war will break out between countries. It's a danger that all people should consider. We have enough nuclear power to not only destroy all our enemies but also ourselves. We have enough power to destroy the entire world. Isn't that something we all should consider when war comes into question?

"My God, what have we done?" That's what the bombardiers of the Enola Gay siad when they dropped the bombs on the two Japanese cities. Sometimes we just have have to ask that question so we as individuals, nations, and a world can see what's happening, and what we ourselves can do to change it. We can't trust politicians from whatever party to make the world a better place if we're just going to sit back and let them do whatever the H-E double hockey sticks they see fit. Like Phil Collins said in "Land of Confusion" we've got to start trying to make our world a place worth living in.
