Dancing Under the Moon

Sitting here
Twittling my fingers
Analyzing my silver pen
And listening to music of goodbyes
Thinking of my future
And things I wish to do
Someday I hope for success
Comfort, love, money
The normalcy of usual wants
But if I think deeper
I find I wish for more
And dream of things
That other would look upon as odd
I wish to dance around an open fire
A long simple gown swirling around my feet
My hair long and free
With the curls bouncing around my face
As I spin with a tamborine in my hands
Spinning to the sound of flutes and pipes
As the men playing the drums sit around the fire
Others dance with me around the flames
Carrying anything that makes music
As we watch the fire dance to our tunes
Standing under the moonlight
And spinning to the continious music
Being one with the song and the sky
Sensing the touch of open freedom
The freedom to dance and fly
With no bars, traps, or boundaries
The freedom to sink into a peaceful sleep
Of no worries and frustrating sadness
Letting the stars shine through my eyes
And the flames light radiate off my skin
As I continue to dance and play to the music
It's a dream
One out of many
Taking form in my head
Music inspired
Picturing a still picture of myself
Caught in mid sway
Eyes closed
My black curly hair flowing down my back
As I hold a round tamborine in my arm
My left hand held in mid air
Reaching up to softly pound its soft drum
Surrounded by round flat bells
Ready to fill the air
With a cheerful chime of small symbols
As my long peach gown
Flows to the floor in a soft sway
All held in perfect stillness
As the girls playing along side me
Held in similiar peaceful positions
The drummers seated around us
Held with one hand in the air
The other hand resting on the drum
The look of joy and happiness
Covering everyones faces
Some held in mid laughter
As the fine continues to crackle
Reaching for the sky
The tips disappearing into the unknown
The still images displaying perfect peace
It's something I wish for
happiness, joy peace, music
Dancing around a fire
Playing without a care in the world
Under a moonlit sky
With friends and family
In the same frame of mind
As I hope to be.
