Believe - shocking beauty, mindblowing vision
October 3, 2008Back from Las Vegas earlier tonight Oct 2 and I want to write about 'Believe'.
I love this show! There is much beauty and Criss takes the audience on a trip like no other production I've ever seen. 'Believe' is totally original art and different from anything. Magic in the purest sense - this show is cutting edge modern theatre yet it is timeless and very inspired. Some scenes are like I'm in the middle of an Angelic creation - a dove flew close to me, I was inside of a snow globe, then petals of poppies changed the scene to blood red. I saw the insides of things, physically things were apart and back together. I saw a bridal train which became something else. There were sweet bunnies morphed to scary demons - everything becomes something else. That is the seamless connection of true magic, changing things. We don't know what we are seeing but we know it is haunting beauty. There are screens & cool vids - time doesn't exist.
I think when people see this amazing show of avant garde theatre they will begin to think differently if they open their minds. A mindblowing shocking vision. That's a scary thing to a lot of people. Criss has power to get into people's minds here in 'Believe' more than ever. Be brave I say to those who watch this show - it's about romantic love, the pain of love - true love, not phoney so called love
'Believe' is a breakthrough in the world of entertainment - but 'are you ready'? because it's hip and people have to learn not to fear new artforms beyond their comfort zone. I am blown away by this amazing Cirque collaboration - all the performers rock it! Especially Criss Angel. Kudos Criss!!! Love you!
