Being different from the rest, you got to be brave........................even if it means making waves....................

I Am Who I Am

I have always been the outcast, the misfit, the different kid. Most of all, I am the flamboyant scapegoat. Besides growing up with awful chaos, I always maintained a fresh, unique and individual outlook on things. I question everything that I’m told. I refuse to go along with philosophies and points of view that don’t work for me or I disagree with. I don’t fit in, and choose to seek my own answers in life. Adolescent and adult home life was unbearable for this domestic violence survivor. Along with all of this, I had the ultimate whammy. A pretty face marred by ugly crooked gapped teeth. Keep in mind I was refused braces. To live, and pursue happiness is much more difficult and painful for me, than the next person. Being that I fought for survival under extreme circumstances, I trust no one, and nothing I’m told. Especially if it’s popular opinion. It’s never been socially convenient, but then, I don’t give a rat’s ass about a popularity contest. I believe if you try to relentlessly please everyone, you’ll never please yourself. I broke the cycle, I live life now my way , pursuing my deepest passions. I took control, demanding to have a beautiful smile. I walk tall with my head unbowed. And even if it means being forever the outsider, I bear no apology. I am who I am.
