WRESTLEMAINIA 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 7, 2009I was there.....
I went with my bud Mike. Our seats sucked but at least we had seats. We were second to highest with our $60 tickets. Nearly directly behind the main jumbotron where the superstars made thier entrance we were all unaware of the pyrotechnics that went with the show. That is until they went off. Loud enough to make your brain stem quiver and wanna duck and cover but not loud enough to cause lasting auditory damage. Louder than anything you will ever hear in your lifetime! The main event was Undertaker vs. Sean Michaels. Walking among 72,444 that were all there for the exact same reason I was was the most amazing feeling. Like a massive family reunion with a bunch of cousins you didn't know you had. It started off with a Money in the Bank Ladder match. CM Punk, Finlay and Hornswoggle, Mark Henry, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Shelton Benjamin, MVP and Christian. Ladders and bodies flew everywhere as the delicious chaos raged. Punk was there, top of the ladder, but was met by Kane. But after a few kicks to the head then a forceful shove Kane was pushed from the ladder and Punk claimed the prize. Next came a match for the Intercontinental Championship between JBL and Rey Mysterio. Rey had a new mask that was remeniscent of Heath Ledger's Joker. 15 seconds into the match Mysterio won....yes WON! No lie! He pinned JBL in four moves and claimed the well deserved title. The guy beside me wasn't even sure what happened. After that Kid Rock performed but since neither Mike nor I was a fan we went and bought souvenirs and food. I bought a pair of Jeff Hardy's arm bands. Purple green and white. Every shirt was over 25 dollars, the arm bands only cost 15 bucks which was all I had. We went back after the performance and the main event took place. Undertaker vs. Michaels. The most phenomenal sight I've ever seen. The tension was stifling but I adored it. Taker piledrived Michaels 3 times and Micheals super kicked the taker only once. Each time they bounced back neither admitting defeat. They could hardly walk by the time it ended. The third piledriver put Michaels out and the Undertaker won 17-0!!!!!! The roar of those 70,000 ppl when he won was something you had to hear to understand. The next it was brother vs. brother. Jeff and Matt Hardy in an exreme rules match. Jeff lost after Matt slammed him against a chair in a Twist of Fate. I almost cried. My favorite high flier, defeated. They showed videos of the rivalries between superstars between each match. Next came a triple threat match for the World Heavywieght championship. Edge, John Cena and Big Show. Edge tried to ally himself with Big Show but was betrayed, as well as John Cena after he and Edge closelined Big Show over the top rope together. Ultimatley and surprisingly Cena won the match as well as the title. Unlike with the main event the crowd was pretty much quiet throughout the rest of the matches with an occasional "Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!" and scattered applause. The glorious night ended with Triple H and Randy Orton facing off for the WWE World Championship! It was a great night! I say best of my life because I had someone to share it with. When I saw BElieVE I went once alone and then once with my mom. I had no one to rave with no one to talk to no one to scream with. But Mike was with me on this and we had one HELL of a time. Things are always more enjoyeable when you have someone who understands to share the moment.
