My son graduated bootcamp on November 21, 2008. We are so proud of him. He is not the person who left home in September, that's for sure. He is the new and improved version of my son. He has really matured and he is so proud and sure of himself, now more than he has ever been in his life.

I was so against him joining the Army and now that I have seen the change in him, I know this is what was best for him.

When they say that you will be all that you can be, they aren't joking.

I miss him dearly with all my heart, but I am so proud of him and honored to call him my son!!

He is stationed at Fort Knox, KY and is in the Armour division. He will be training to operate a tank and Humvees. He will be the soldier who goes in and kicks the doors in. I am not to happy about that, but he assures me he is being highly trained for it. He will be coming home on December 19 - January 3 for the holidays and then going back to KY until he graduates the Armour training on January 30. From there he will be heading to Fort Irwin, CA. He may be stationed there for about 1 year and from there he may go to Afganistan or Iraq. But let us pray that President Obama does something before then and pulls our troops out.
