Tattoos booked

October 15, 2007

The ball is finally rolling!

First of I just have to say that I love my tattoo artist! She f***ing rocks my tattooed world!

I went in this morning to meet with Anabela for my consultation for the next two tattoos I want. When I called in during the summer to book my consult the receptionist told me that she is booked up until the new year for tattoos. That was fine, I could wait.

However, today when I went in I was greeted with the usual big smile and giddiness that I have come to expect and get such a kick out of! I was surprised to see that Anabela cut all her long hair (it was almost down to her bum!) for a really funky short style but it looks awesome! She said that she donated all her hair she had cut for wigs for cancer patients. Aww! Her mom passed away 7 years ago from cancer so I know being able to do her part to help other patients really meant a lot to her.

So we talked and laughed and went over my designs. She's really excited about the work I brought in for her. YAY! The Criss Angel logo I want on the back of my phoenix I wasn't able to edit in to my design so I left it in her hands to place it in for me. The piece for my back has been so hard to describe even with the pictures! Anabela however is all over it and said it will come together great! I left it up to her to draw up. She is going to design the tails for my shooting stars on her own so I'm going to have a surprise when I go back to see what she came up with. I can't wait!! I know she'll do a kick ass job.

Anabela has done 7 of my 10 tattoos (3 I had done while living in Windsor) so we have come to know each other very well and she gives her loyal clients a lot of special treatment. She also understands that I have Fibromyalgia and how getting tatooed now takes me longer to heal so she is completely willing to break up my sessions into several appointments.

I decided to get my phoenix done first. It looks like a 3-4 hour job so I have no issues with doing that sitting all at once. I'm booked in for November 20th at 5pm.

My back piece we are going to break up a little bit. Usually she would ink the outline for the entire tattoo in one sitting and then do all the colour in the next appointment. That would be a lot for me to do so instead we are going to outline & colour the butterflies for my shoulder blades & the shading around the sparrow I already have. The next appointment we will do the "Release the Stars" text in the center of my back (between my shoulder blades) and the shooting stars to finish the piece off. I like this idea much better! Breaking it up like that for me is much easier than having all the outline done and then colour later. I start the work on my back December 7th and then we will book the second appointment from there.

So I went in today thinking I would have to wait until after the new year for my tattoos and then lovely Anabela tells me "No way! As soon as possible for my favourite client!" I love it how there was another lady there waiting for her consult with Anabela so she totally heard our conversation and had this look on her face when I left like "Aw s**t!"

I can't wait to get this ink done! I also want to get something done on the top of my foot trailing up my calf….but I have no idea what. I'm thinking something else Criss Angel related….but I'm not sure what. It needs to be original and personal. think think think Not to mention I also want to get sleeves done too. Time to start getting creative!
