RIP Danny Gans 1956 - 2009

May 1, 2009

In case you hadn't heard, it has been reported that Las Vegas headliner Danny Gans died suddenly in his sleep early Friday morning. Known as the "Man of many voices", Danny was perhaps best known for his impression of George Burns, although his act included multitudes of impressions of celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Forrest Gump. In his many years on the Vegas strip (starting in 1996), Danny headlined at the Stratosphere, the Rio, the Mirage, and most recently at the Wynn and was voted "VEGAS Entertainer of the year" eleven times in a row. He was much loved in Vegas and was very active for local charities. He is survived by his wife and three children.

It's so sad! I always intended to get to his show and just never got around to it. Now, of course, I'm kicking myself. R.I.P. Danny, Vegas will undoubtedly miss you!

That's really sad news! He sounds like an awesome entertainer who will be much missed..I feel sad for his family and sad for the fact that I won't get to see him perform.

He was a great Entertainer! I saw his show about 3 years ago. I really enjoyed it. He will surely be missed. I am sure Vegas will go dark for him.

It was reported that he collapsed (medic info his wife was trying to revive him with the EMT's got there ) but in any event...he will be sorely missed and I never had an opportunity to see his show. He did a wonderful interview on LARRY KING LIVE Feb 28, 2009 that shows what a wonderful, large hearted man he was with an incrediblle talet. A wonderful father and husband. I heard of the news when I got home from the Luxor early this mourning. I wish I could have seen his show....He truly will live on here in the city of many lights !!!
