VEGAS BABY!!!!!
August 3, 2008I just got back from my amazing trip to Vegas a few days ago and I thought I'd share some of my adventures with you guys! =)
Ok so I promised I would tell all of you about my trip to Vegas when I got back and I know it's been a few days but I've been trying to get back into the swing of things back here cause there's such a difference being in Maryland and being in Las Vegas let me tell ya. lol Alright well here's just a recap of what happened on each day I was there:
SUNDAY: Arrived at around 12:15 and got to see the Luxor out the plane window so that was incredible! Me and my sister were freaking out. The other passengers were probably thinking what the hell is the matter with those two girls? Anyway we walked through the airport and saw not one not two not three but like a million slot machines (they really are everywhere there) and went on this thing you stand on that takes you to baggage claim and picked up our stuff. We then went outside to get a ride to the hotel. we had to make a few stops first so it took a while but we did get to see the sights on our drive there so that was cool. We finally arrive at the hotel (The MGM Mirage) and as soon as you walk in there's a HUGE rain forest looking thing in the front in this little dome area. Then there's a HUGE fish tank with hundreds of fish sprawling across the front desk where you check in. It took us a while to check in cause the two rooms were being cleaned or something so we went to eat at Carnegie Deli which was PACKED. I'm still amazed we got a table. The we checked in and went up to our rooms which were pretty nice. They had a flat screen TV and an iHome for your iPod so that was neat. We then unpacked and we ate somewhere in the hotel I think. we didn't really do much the first day I don't think other than get a feel for the hotel.
MONDAY: BEATLES LOVE SHOW DAY!!!!!!!! We were really excited for that! But first we saw the Sigfried and Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat which rocked! I got some good pics there too. I also got a stuffed white tiger from the gift shop and a t-shirt. Then we had a snack at this little coffee place inside and that was yummy! lol I was sitting there the whole time trying to think of a name for my tiger. I tried combining Sigfried and Roy and I ended up calling it "Royfried", Roy for short. I think it was pretty creative. =) We went across the street to the Venician hotel which let me tell ya is AMAZING because it looks like you're really in Italy when you're walking around the shopping area. The sky is painted to look like the sky with clouds and everything and it really felt like you were outside especially when we ate at this little gated Italian restaurant which was so good. We went to see if the gandala rides were going on cause they have this inside little river thing that goes for like over 500 feet where you take a gandala ride with an Italian guy rowing the boat and he sings too. But you had to make a reservation so we saved it for another day. But we did go to this neat little magic shop called Houdini's and there was this guy there who took a liking to me and my sister and was goofing around with us. He's our new boyfriend. haha So then we had to go up to get changed for the show so we did and we walked down to the LOVE theater together. The LOVE theater is the most awesome thing ever btw. The hallway that you walk down to go in is all lit up in different colors that change as you walk down and at the end it curves up and there's the four Beatles on the wall. Then we were greeted by a guy dressed as a British guard who gave us our tickets and then we walked in and found our seats. They were up in the balcony which actually is the better place to sit I think. At least for that kind of show I mean you can see so much more that way you know? Instead of having to look up all the time. The show was FREAKING AMAZING!!!! if any of you get a chance to see it I HIGHLY recommend it. It was the best thing I've ever seen. Of course you have to be a fan of the Beatles to truly enjoy it though. We even got a souvenir at the end cause they shoot out these streamers and there was a long one on the floor as we were leaving so I quickly picked it up on our way out. They also have a gift shop in the theater too. Then we went up to our room and called it a night.
TUESDAY: We went to a bunch of hotels. We went to the MGM Grand and took the monorail to the place where the Luxor is. We walked through the heat to get there too which was less than fun. Vegas heat is bearable but only for so long. We walked for what seemed like a million miles and finally asked a guy at the Tropicana hotel how to get there so we went across this bridge and went into the Excalibur and rode on one of those moving walkway things and we entered the Luxor! It was so surreal being there cause we've seen it on Mindfreak so many times and it just felt like so unexplainable to actually be there walking the halls. The store is right there when you get off the walkway to the left. There's also one of Criss' bikes and the huge saw on display and then there are more of his bikes on display as you walk past the store. In the store it's pretty small and there's two couches in the middle facing each other and a ton of stuff everywhere and they also just happened to be having a drawing going on so when I went up to the register to get my stuff I wrote my name on a card and my phone number and my mom did the same and we put them into a little tank thing on the table in between the two couches. You could win a signed poster of Criss. The guy was really nice that checked us out. His name was Sherwin and he was Asian. He rocked. lol So then we had to figure out who to leave the present we had for Criss with since he wasn't there. We ended up walking around the hotel like twice asking people until we were finally told by this awesome guy named Jae to leave it with the store people since the production office moved to LA a few weeks ago. I know I don't get that either. But anyway so we left it with Sherwin and he said JD should be back next week to pick it up so I guess he does the drawings for the contest too. We had our emails and addresses on there so hopefully we'll get some kind of response from Criss this week. FINGERS CROSSED! So then we got coffee at Starbucks, shopped at the Luxor official store and then headed back to our hotel. In the heat no less. Ugh. We ate at a restaurant in the hotel again and then called it a night.
WEDNESDAY: Our last day in Vegas and w were beside ourselves with not wanting to go. =( Me, my sister, and my aunt all went to the Venician to see Madame Toussau's wax museum which was really cool. We saw Cameron Diaz, Jessica Simpson, Mathew McCaughnahey (idk if that's right oh well), Johnny Depp, Hilary Swank, Lenny Kravitz, Beyonce, Tim McGraw, Tiger Woods, The Rock, and so many others and we a special pic with Elvis that we bought on our way out at the end. It was really cool. Then we went to Ceaser's Palace and walked around and saw the Forum shops which you'd have to be like a millionaire to even think of buying something in there. Then we went and ate at Planet Hollywood and that was cool cause they have music videos and stuff playing while you eat and there's Hollywood props like the mother from psycho in the rocking chair and the terminater robot in glass cases. I got pics. lol Then we went back to the hotel and layed down and realxed for a bit and then walked to the Belagio to eat. And oh my good god Ceaser's Palace is like 5 football fields long or something! It was crazy we thought we were getting closer and we'd look over and be like oh look more Ceaser's Palace! haha But we finally made it and we ended up eating outside at this kinda fancy restaurant under umbrellas with mist coming out so it was really nice. And we got to see four of the famous Belagio lake water shows. Every one is put to different music and they're all different. It was very sweet. So then we walked back to the hotel and by that time it was dark and we got pics of the lights on our way back to the Mirage. It was really pretty. I love the Paris all lit up it was really pretty. I think it was my favorite. I really would've liked to see the Luxor all lit up but it was all the way down the strip so that was out of the question. We went back and ate at a restaurant called Cravings that was set up like a buffet and they literally had everything. Then we finished any packing and got ready to watch Criss' live stunt which me and my sister were freaking out when the building collapsed but then when he popped up we were like OMG I HATE HIM BUT I LOVE HIM! And my mom had an interesting idea as to how he did it. And this idea is shared by another loyal friend of mine on here as well (luv ya Big Sis!) she said that after he left door three he wasn't in the building. They used footage already recorded or something to make it look like he was but he really wasn't. you could tell at the end that he was deliberately trying to make it hard to open the last locks too. I don't know it's just one theory but I can see how he would have done it I mean the witness and everyone who was up there before it didn't see past door two so who knows right? It could've happened like that. I'm just glad he's not dead.
THURSDAY: Not much to say about this day other than we got up at like 8 and had room service delivered and finished our last minute packing and headed down to check out and wait for our car to arrive to take us to the airport. We got to the airport with like two hours to go until our plane left so we were kinda really bored for a while. But then we finally boarded and said our last goodbyes to Vegas. Me and my sister were so sad to leave but we're already planning another trip next summer to see Criss' live show at the Luxor so we're also really excited. Oh I almost forgot to tell you all what we got on the trip. I got a bracelet, a poster, and a hat from the Mindfreak store and my sister got a pack of the playing cards and a poster and a tank top. My mom and aunt got Luxor shirts and a Mindfreak mousepad and Mindfreeak journals for me and my sister to use in school. Then I got a Beatles shirt, my sister got a Beatles poster and a really cool bag and my mom got my dad two Beatles shirts and I don't know what my aunt got. And I also got two other bracelets from the Venician Las Vegas store and the Luxor store. They're cute. =) And that's it I think. We got to the airport in Baltimore a half hour early so that was good. We got home at like 10:00 at night and it felt good and strange to be home.
So that was our amazing Vegas adventure and I can't wait to go back next summer and see Criss! Oh and I'll let you all know how the present thing goes. TTYL xoxo
