Don't stop BELIEVE-ing!
December 11, 2008Third and final installment of Vegas 2008
Okay, it looks like this blog will be longer than I planned. But I’m writing this as much for me as I am for my Loyal friends – want to have a full record of my special weekend! I’m back in the real world now (unfortunately) and haven’t had much time to finish my Vegas tale, but here it is. At nearly noon on Sunday, I met JeanieAnn and Dalanje at Tacos & Tequila for a late breakfast/early lunch – and a couple of Margaritas and a lot of talk about how great the day before had been. We spent a lot of time being pretty goofy…”Loyals Gone Wild”…and when we finally left T&T I was on a mission to see THE CARS! So off we went to the north valet area. It was a cloudy, kind of misty day, but there they were – the Lambo, the Rolls and the Viper – but all with CAR COVERS on them. Damn! Still, devoted Loyal that I am, I took a bunch of pictures. How could I not? We then proceeded through the valet driveway area where in Season 4 Criss faced the speeding Escalade and wound up inside it. And we found the production bus, still painted with the “shooting season 4” stuff. We took a bunch of pictures (which, along with my others, I’ll either post or get into a Photobucket album soon – stay tuned) and wished that the door would open and Criss would pop out of it. Of course it wasn’t going to happen, but a girl can dream, right? The rest of the afternoon the three of us wandered up the Strip, as far as Bellagio (my favorite place in Vegas, by far), where we went in to see their gorgeous Christmas decorations. Oh, we’d also stopped at MGM to see the lion exhibit – they had a beautiful male in there at the time. Bigger than Hammie. Much bigger. Later a bunch of us had dinner at Cathouse (and our waitress pointed out where Criss sits when he eats there), and after that I had to race to my room to change for the 10 pm BeLIEve show. This time I had 8th row, which was great, too – not as close as the night before but nearly dead center. During the preshow usher silliness, Luigi caught my eye and I was grinning at him and he crawled over some people in my row to get to me and give me popcorn. I said “Hi, Luigi!” and the people beside me looked stunned that I “knew” him! The show was essentially the same as the previous night and I loved it all over again – but the audience, in my opinion, SUCKED. I was doing my bit, cheering for Criss and applauding everything – and some others were, too, but nowhere near as many as the previous night. My heart ached for Criss – he deserved a much better, more responsive crowd. Well, at least he had ME and some other Loyals! Toward the end he announced that Holly and Dimitra were in the audience and had them stand up briefly. They were a few rows behind me and on the other side of the section, so I didn’t get a chance to say hello – I would have loved to. After the show it was vigil time again, for several of us hopeful Loyals. But it was not to be. Security came out and told us that Criss had an “appointment” and wouldn’t be coming out this way tonight. We stuck around a little bit longer anyway, just in case! But eventually we gave it up. A few more post show drinks and a slightly earlier night – 3 a.m. in stead of 4! And the next day…breakfast near the BeLIEve theater, some wandering around (I went to Mandalay Bay for a while) and off to the airport and home. Too quick. But a weekend I will NEVER forget! I can’t wait to get back there and look into those magical eyes again!
